POSITION: After School Credit Recovery Instructor
SUPERVISOR: Director of Responsive Education
EMPLOYMENT 2026-2027 School Year; Part-Time Hourly
TERM:
SALARY: $40.00 per hour
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Director of Responsive Education in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and JCBOE Evaluation Policy.
JOB SUMMARY: The After School Credit Recovery Instructor provides school-based services to students who are credit deficient seeking a computer-based option to recover failed credits. Services will be provided at Jefferson High School, Washington High School, and/or RISE—and include supervision of computer lab space, monitoring of online student progress, enrolling and assigning appropriate coursework, one-on-one instructional support as needed. The After School Credit Recovery Instructor supplements work being performed by the high school credit recovery instructors and remains in consistent communication with these individuals.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains enrollment of students within the credit recovery platform
- Monitors classroom space to ensure academic integrity
- Assists with students’ questions or concerns
- Provides individualized academic support, when appropriate
- Serves as the administrative proctor for online assessments
- Grades written work and manually enters grades when needed
- Develops positive rapport with students and colleagues
- Completes other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: |
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field required
- Experience supporting at-risk populations preferred
- Expertise related to technology devices and applications such as online learning platforms and word processing software
- Strong organizational and communication skills employing tact, patience, and courtesy

Most commonly, the educational setting is indoors with outdoor settings for recess and field trip activities. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate (20-60 dB).
