JOB SUMMARY
Solid Waste Inspector
Investigates and documents violations of the Solid Waste and Public Nuisance Ordinances. Conducts inspections, issues citations, and maintains accurate case documentation. May assist in training new inspectors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspection: Perform field inspections to identify violations of Solid Waste and Public Nuisance Ordinances.
- Documentation: Photograph, record, and document violations using approved forms and databases.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate case files, issue notices of violation, and track compliance deadlines.
- Public Interaction: Communicate with property owners to explain violations and provide corrective guidance.
- Coordination: Work with law enforcement and other County departments to address ongoing or repeat violations.
- Court Preparation: Prepare documentation and appear in court as needed to support enforcement actions.
The individual in this role is expected to contribute to the team's efforts by completing other related tasks, as may be assigned.
