M.D. or D.O Family Practice - Ottumwa

JCHC is excited to announce the opening of our new Family Medicine Clinic in Ottumwa, which is scheduled to open early 2026; this position will be part of our brand-new location.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the general guidance of the medical director and in accordance with the Iowa Board of Medicine, the physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with diseases and adverse health conditions following the appropriate medical practice guidelines. Provides medical care to patients of varying types and acuity and is responsible for the continuous and comprehensive management of a broad range of health services. Utilizes the knowledge and skill acquired through specialized training, to promote health, prevent disease, and assess patient health care management. Performs assigned procedures and duties within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa Board of Medicine outlined within their contract. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Medical degree in medicine from an accredited school and must possess a current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Iowa. Must be registered under both state and federal Controlled Substances Acts. Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty. Must be registered and have current DEA, CSA, and other such to legally operate as a provider in the State of Iowa. Hospital privileges are required.
• Minimum two years of direct work or intern experience. Strong communication skills, verbal and written, are required. Must possess well-developed interpersonal skills to work smoothly and productively with patients, as well as administrative, nursing, Advanced Practice Providers, and other physician staff members. Must possess highly developed organizational skills and be very reliable, as this position requires daily access to patient information, which is extremely. Strong computer skills and use of electronic medical records are required.
