In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients across all ages, providing preventive care, diagnosing illnesses, managing chronic conditions, and coordinating treatment plans. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Administer injections, including immunizations and botulinum toxin treatments, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage urgent care cases such as acute pain management, triage of emergency situations, and stabilization of critically ill patients.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with specialists for referrals, including infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, or hospital-based services such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center cases.
- Engage in patient education and health coaching to promote lifestyle modifications and preventive health strategies.
- Participate in clinical research or clinical trials when applicable to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Valid medical license with certification in family medicine or internal medicine; board certification preferred.
- Proven experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Intergy, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding is essential.
- Demonstrated skills in suturing, injection administration, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluation
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, CPT coding for procedures, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Ability to perform triage effectively in outpatient or urgent care environments while managing acute pain and infectious disease cases.
