Essential Functions
- provide intervention to students who are identified as exhibiting behavioral difficulties which impede social development and academic success
- coach teachers on positive behavior supports and classroom management
- serve as a member of building problem solving teams
- possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals, groups and systems through the application of positive behavior supports
- Participate in all District provided professional development focused on developing behavioral intervention skills.
- Participate and work as a collaborative member of the school's Student Support Team providing professional guidance on intervention strategies for referred students.
- Assist building in the analyzation and action planning of tier 1, 2, and 3 behavioral data.
- Provide behavioral intervention to students identified by the Student Support Team developing a plan of action to assist students in positive behavioral change.
- Work independently and problem-solve challenging situations.
- Provide required reporting on all levels of student intervention and programs implemented
- Participate in ongoing supervision, including direct observations by supervisors.
- Follow through on directive given by Supervisors pertaining to Behavior Interventionist responsibilities, performance and program implementation.
- Work with individual teachers, groups of teachers and/or the entire staff on issues such as: classroom management & classwide positive behavior supports.
- Organize and schedule time commitments to meet demands of the job
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve District, building, departmental and/or grade level goals
- Compliance with FERPA, and all federal and state confidentiality laws.
