RESPONSIBILITIES

- Answer telephone calls, calling patients with results, scheduling testing and appointments.
- Processing prior authorizations and referrals.
- Assists the physician and/or nurse to provide physical care for the patient before, during, and after examinations and procedures, as needed.
- Provides nursing care to patients in the clinic following the MO Nurse Practice Act, RN Scope of Practice.
- Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain competence.
- Uses facility communication systems correctly.
- Performs routine clerical activities required for efficient operation of the ambulatory clinic.
- Ensures efficient customer friendly telephone communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Graduate from an approved LPN or RN School of Nursing
Experience:
- 1 year in an acute care setting; prefer an additional 1 year in ambulatory care
Certification/License:
- MO LPN/RN License in good standing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certified or obtain within 90-days of employment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic computer skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in heated and air-conditioned area; may be exposed to infectious material and contagious conditions; frequently exposed to patient body fluids, including blood and contaminated sharps; potential for exposure to hazardous disinfecting chemicals and radiation; must follow universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment.
