Commercial Construction Superintendent
Location: Freeport-McMoRan Bagdad Townsite, Arizona Schedule: Night Shift
Compensation: Negotiable Based on Experience
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage night-shift construction operations at the Freeport-McMoRan Bagdad Townsite. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, exceptional leadership skills, a proven commitment to jobsite safety, and the ability to manage project schedules while coordinating subcontractors and field personnel.
The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring construction activities are performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all field operations during night-shift construction activities.
- Maintain the highest standards of jobsite safety and ensure compliance with OSHA, owner requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules.
- Identify potential schedule impacts and implement recovery plans as needed.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, RFls, submittals, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and production tracking.
- Utilize Procore for project management, documentation, and field communication.
- Prepare and manage reports using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and
Teams.
- Coordinate inspections and quality control activities.
- Work closely with project managers, owners, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Maintain site security and operational continuity during night work.
- Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent.
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and accident prevention.
- Experience working on industrial, mining, municipal, or heavy commercial projects preferred.
- Proficient in:
- o Procore o Microsoft Excel o Microsoft Word o Microsoft Outlook o Microsoft Teams
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong scheduling and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Preferred QuaIificatians
- Experience working on mining or industrial facilities.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors in active operational environments.
