Position Overview

JE Construction Services is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Survey Manager to lead and oversee all survey operations for our civil and heavy highway construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and coordination between field survey crews, project management, and construction teams. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in digital survey workflows, Trimble Business Center, machine control, and data management, while also possessing strong leadership and scheduling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule all survey crews to support ongoing and upcoming construction projects
• Oversee daily survey operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications
• Develop, maintain, and implement digital survey workflows using Trimble Business Center and CAD software
• Process, analyze, and manage survey data for use in machine control models and construction layouts
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and engineers to support construction needs
• Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of Trimble survey equipment and machine control systems
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field crews
• Establish and enforce quality control standards and best practices for survey operations
• Train and mentor survey personnel on equipment, software, and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Trimble Business Center (TBC)
• Strong proficiency in CAD software for surface modeling and construction layout
• Extensive knowledge of Trimble survey equipment and machine control systems
• Proven experience managing and scheduling multiple survey crews
• Strong understanding of construction surveying for civil/heavy highway projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and control data and generate models from them
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with survey drones and aerial data collection
• Knowledge of drone processing software such as Propeller or similar platforms
• Part 107 FAA Remote Pilot Certification (Drone Pilot License)
• Experience integrating drone data into civil construction workflows
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) a plus
