What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at JE Construction Services, LLC?
Position Description
- Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, motor graders, excavators, rollers, etc.
- Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
- Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches
- Uses equipment to prepare for the construction of parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and roads.
- Operates machinery used to build bridges, roads, and railroads.
- Inspects equipment prior to beginning shift.
- Performs routine maintenance
- Greases equipment daily
- Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance
- Ability to follow instructions.
Education and Experience:
- Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
- Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
