Quarry Plant Operator

Position Summary
Eureka Stone Quarry, Inc. is seeking an experienced and safety-driven Quarry Plant Operator to oversee daily mining and processing plant operations. This leadership role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of quarry production while maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
The Quarry Plant Operator will manage pit and plant production, maintenance activities, mobile equipment operations, and workforce supervision to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and achievement of production goals. This individual will play a key role in leading teams, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the company’s commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily quarry and processing plant operations with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise pit and/or plant production activities
- Oversee plant maintenance and mobile equipment operations to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
- Demonstrate and actively promote the company’s safety culture through leadership and example
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve performance and operational capability
- Schedule workforce assignments and manage labor resources efficiently
- Conduct performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental, and operational policies
- Achieve established production, safety, and environmental performance metrics
- Implement process improvements and operational changes using available resources
- Monitor preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned equipment downtime
- Maintain understanding of all laws, regulations, and policies affecting quarry operations
Qualifications / Requirements
- Demonstrated personal commitment to workplace safety and safety leadership
- Minimum 3 years of aggregate or mining operations experience
- Strong understanding of mineral processing equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated mobile equipment
- Previous supervisory experience in a mining, quarry, or heavy industrial environment
- Millwright and welding skills strongly preferred
- Experience with drilling, blasting, inventory control, and customer service preferred
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Ability to adapt and implement operational changes in a timely manner
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
