Job Title: Real Estate Tax Senior

Location: New York, NY

JCW is partnered with a leading real estate firm dedicated to providing comprehensive investment, management, and development services. They are looking to hire a Senior Tax Associate will play a crucial role in their tax department. This individual will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations, as well as providing strategic tax planning and advice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review partnership tax returns (Form 1065).
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of complex tax issues related to real estate transactions and investments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with tax planning strategies to optimize tax outcomes for clients.
• Work closely with the accounting team to gather and analyze financial data.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
• Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations, and assess their impact on clients.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior tax associates and staff.
• Participate in tax planning meetings and present findings to senior management and clients.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their tax-related needs are met.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MST preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, with a focus on partnership tax returns for real estate or private equity clients.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
