We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Intern to join our Tax Department. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in real estate taxation, compliance, and reporting. During the summer months, you will work four (4) days a week in our offices in New York City. During the school year, you must be able to work (2) days or sixteen (16) hours a week in the office.
This is an experiential opportunity in which you will discover new skills and talents in a practical work setting, while applying the skills you have already developed through school and experience. You will have assigned task as outlined below. During the summer, you will be able to participate in our Summer intern events, projects and lunch and learn series, and you will gain connections at all levels of the company and learn about a variety of facets of our business.
You must be currently matriculated as a rising a Junior, Senior or graduate student and pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and has a strong interest in tax and real estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for partnerships and corporations.
- Support the team in gathering and organizing financial data for tax filings.
- Help maintain tax records and documentation in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including administration (mailings and correspondence).
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
About You:
- Curiosity and a desire to learn about the Real Estate Industry as well as keen interest in exploring capital raising.
- Outgoing, self-motivated
- Quantitative background that demonstrates analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and capability to articulate complex topics.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. If an undergraduate student, you must have completed a minimum of two years.
- Basic understanding of tax principles and accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Word and other Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior internship or work experience in tax or accounting is a plus.

Qualifications:
