Tax Manager – Management Company

Role Overview

A leading alternative investment management firm is seeking a Tax Manager to support tax matters for its Management Company entities. This role will be responsible for income tax compliance, tax provision support, and tax planning initiatives, working closely with senior finance leadership, internal partners, and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage federal, state, and local income tax compliance for management company entities, including partnerships and corporations.
• Coordinate and review tax returns prepared by external advisors and oversee quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Support tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures under GAAP.
• Assist with tax planning initiatives related to compensation, intercompany arrangements, and business operations.
• Analyze tax implications of new initiatives, entity structures, and transactions.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for external tax advisors.
• Partner with accounting, legal, payroll, and HR teams on tax-related matters.
• Support tax audits, inquiries, and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MST strongly preferred.
• 6–10 years of relevant tax experience, including public accounting and/or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income taxation, particularly for partnerships and management companies.
• Experience with tax provisions and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
