What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at JCW Group?
A rapidly growing and highly reputable asset management firm with over $40B in AUM globally, is seeking a Tax Manager with deep expertise in hedge fund and/or private equity tax. This role offers exposure to complex, high-profile fund structures spanning public/private equity and credit, along with a highly competitive compensation package. Day To Day:
- Direct responsibility for managing the hedge fund and private equity tax compliance process
- Oversee filings for their complex funds (tax allocations, wash sales, straddles, K-1s and security adjustments)
- Report directly to the Tax Director on a close and collaborative team of 4
- Liaise between legal and fund accounting teams on specific tax matters impacting the business
- Ensure accurate tax reporting and FATCA/CRS regulatory filings
- Review estimates on tax projections across the organization
- Enhance automation processes by partnering with the internal technology team
The Ideal Candidate has:
- 5-8 years of hedge fund and/or private equity tax compliance experience
- Bachelor's degree required/CPA is preferred
- Someone who brings strong and polished presentation skills with the ability to communicate well with senior leadership
- Demonstrates excellent problem solving and capable of working in a fast paced environment
- Someone eager to learn and pursue new challenges in the asset management space
