Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and review of partnership tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings.
- Provide guidance and support to junior tax team members in tax compliance matters.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in tax planning initiatives to minimize the organization's tax liabilities and optimize tax efficiencies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance and legal teams, to address tax-related inquiries and issues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and industry trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in partnership tax accounting, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of working independently and managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with tax compliance for investment partnerships, hedge funds, or private equity funds is a plus.
- Knowledge of Connecticut tax laws and regulations is preferred.
