Our client, a credit union in the Boston area, is looking for a Consumer Loan Collections Manager. This person will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing collection processes, and maintaining a positive relationship with members. This role reports directly to the Chief Lending Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy: Support the development and execution of collections strategies to reduce delinquencies and losses; align efforts with organizational goals
- Leadership: Lead and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Policies & Procedures: Enforce collections policies in compliance with regulations and recommend improvements as needed
- Process Improvement: Stay current on industry best practices and enhance collections efficiency
- Delinquency Management: Monitor delinquency trends, implement proactive solutions, and partner with production teams to address root causes
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all laws, regulations, and internal policies, including repossessions and foreclosures
- Member Relations: Support communication strategies for delinquent accounts while maintaining positive member relationships
- Reporting: Track performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership and the Board
- Training: Provide ongoing coaching and development for collections staff
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with agencies and attorneys to support recovery efforts and align with organizational standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field
- 7 years of experience in collections supervision within a credit union or bank environment
- In-depth knowledge of all state and federal collections regulation and compliance requirements
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical skills to make data-driven decisions
- Proficiency in using collections software and relevant technologies
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving credit union environment
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical collections practices and member-focused resolution strategies.
Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
