Business Banking Relationship Manager - C&I

Overview:

A heavily expanding mid-sized commercial bank is seeking an experienced Lower Middle Market Banker to join their C&I team in the New York Metro Area. This role focuses on developing and managing a portfolio of small-to-mid-sized business clients while driving new loan and deposit growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a banker who enjoys business development, client relationship management, and partnering closely with internal product teams to deliver full-service financial solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a portfolio of C&I clients, driving profitable growth while maintaining strong credit quality and risk standards.
• Analyze financial statements, assess creditworthiness, and prepare complete loan packages to support underwriting and approval.
• Build and maintain strong referral networks with Centers of Influence and collaborate internally to deliver full-service banking solutions.
• Provide client service through regular communication, account management, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

Qualifications:

• 4 years experience in C&I lower middle market, including lending and Portfolio management.
• Proven ability to independently source new business and manage multiple client relationships.
• Prior credit analysis or underwriting experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/referral tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce).
