Position: Operations Manager
Location: New Jersey (on-site)
Salary: $150,000K- $170,000- Commensurate with experience
Company Overview
A rapidly growing, technology-driven industrial services organization is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee a production and repair facility. The company specializes in providing integrated solutions across mechanical systems, components, and technical services, supporting a range of industrial and infrastructure applications nationwide.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced operations professional with strong technical expertise in motor repair, machining, and shop operations management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily shop operations, including production, scheduling, and quality control
- Review incoming jobs and determine appropriate repair approach
- Provide technical guidance on motor repair and machining processes
- Manage shop performance, including budget (P&L) and resource allocation
- Ensure timely completion of jobs and coordinate pickups/deliveries
- Maintain inventory and approve materials and invoices
- Communicate with customers on scope, pricing, and job status
- Lead, train, and manage shop staff performance
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate work and resources
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or equivalent experience
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing, repair operations, or shop environments
- 5 years of leadership experience managing teams in an industrial setting
- Strong experience in motor repair and/or machining operations
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and production schedules
Preferred:
- Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S methodologies
- Bilingual (Spanish) capabilities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels
