Bilingual Custodial Supervisor
Location: Ashburn, VA
Pay: $26.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
About the Role
A well-established facilities services company is hiring a working Bilingual Custodial Supervisor to lead a janitorial team at a busy campus location. This is a hands-on supervisory role: you'll train, coach, and support your crew while still rolling up your sleeves to perform cleaning work yourself when needed. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required, as you'll be communicating daily with both staff and building occupants.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships with a positive customer service orientation
- Serve as the main point of contact for client liaisons, meeting regularly to confirm quality standards are met and service issues are promptly resolved
- Provide leadership and support, including availability for emergency and off-hour needs
- Promote a strong safety culture; train staff on proper PPE use and safe movement practices
- Plan and assign work schedules to meet service delivery expectations
- Ensure timely response to client-reported emergency cleaning situations
- Train staff on building and property security protocols
- Train staff on standard and site-specific cleaning methods and protocols
- Ensure cleaning supplies and chemicals are used and stored properly, including SDS and OSHA compliance
- Train staff on the safe operation of cleaning equipment (buffers, scrubbers, etc.)
- Train and manage janitorial and porter staff
- Monitor employee timekeeping for schedule adherence and policy compliance
- Identify opportunities for additional billable project work with new or existing clients
- Arrange staff substitutions or personally perform work when absences could impact service delivery
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
- Prior experience supervising or leading a team, ideally in custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning services
- Comfortable performing hands-on cleaning work in addition to supervisory duties
- Strong track record of staff retention, coaching, and team development
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presenting to small and large groups
- High School Diploma or GED required
