Job Overview
The Performing Arts Manager will assist the Director of Performing Arts and support staff with day-to-day operations including interfacing with patrons, rentals, and partners; scheduling and coordinating the services and programs of the dance school and Bendheim Performing Arts Center; stepping in as-needed with teaching classes and productions; lead staff development and training for faculty members, rentals, and consultants; and providing organizational/administrative support for the program to ensure a positive customer experience for all dance and theater patrons and guests.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
· Monitor daily dance school and theater operations to adhere to all state, local and JCC health and safety regulations and policies. Model and promote a culture of safety and professionalism.
· Assist the Performing Arts Director in managing the JCC’s evening programs, including communicating with patrons and families, communicating with faculty and managing substitutes, and overseeing student attendance.
· Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner. These may include but not limited to answering phones, checking students and guests in, communicating with current students and guardians in person and over email, providing information regarding the dance school and theater, conduct tasks related to event rentals, communications, sales, contracting, and assisting patrons with class passes, registration, and payment.
· Learn payroll processing, invoices, and managing systems for program registration, reporting, room reservations, Google suite, WordPress, etc. and act as a backup to the Director of Performing Arts.
· Perform other duties as directed by Director of Performing Arts, which may include:
- teaching classes as a substitute instructor
- managing inventory, record keeping, data entry,
- scheduling of the theater and dance studios.
Skills, Education and Experience
· At least four years of college education and two years of work experience
· Knowledge and experience working in a theater and dance program preferred.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
· Positive attitude and customer service focused perspective.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Dance instruction and supervisory experience preferred.
· BLS certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position requires a moderate degree of physical stamina and strength, including the ability to frequently sit, stand and walk through a multi-level facility. Squat, bend, kneel, twist, climb, balance and reach over head. Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. Frequently see objects up close to perform office tasks and far away to observe activity for safety hazards or problems. Constantly use hearing to interact with guests and staff and recognize trouble outside of view

Job Type: Part Time
Salary: $30-32.00/hour
Schedule: 24 hours a week
- Weekend availability: at least one weekend day as decided on by the Director of Performing Arts
- Weekday evening availability (4pm-8pm)
Experience:
- Dance Instruction: 1 year (Preferred)
- Theater Production: 1 year (Preferred)
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
