Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing sustaining engineering teams' work on implant and instrument design.
- Collaborating with segments of complex multifunctional teams to advancing assigned projects through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Modeling and detailing implant and instrument designs using ProE/Creo design software.
- Demonstrating technical protocols and report writing skills.
- Working on cross-functional design teams to addressing design and manufacturing changes and maintaining existing designs.
- Applying knowledge of surgical procedures to developing innovative solutions that solve or satisfy customer needs.
- Supporting FDA and worldwide submissions by preparing design rationales and ensuring compliance with industry standards within an international team.
- Researching legacy testing procedures and design controls to gathering the evidence required.
- Performing tolerance analysis to ensure design accuracy and reliability.
- Drafting technical memos to document findings, rationales, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related science discipline.
- 1-2 years of experience in product design, preferably within the medical device or regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, test reports, and design control documents.
- Proficiency with parametric CAD software such as ProE/Creo.
- Knowledge of design controls and risk management practices.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or similar engineering analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying technical concepts both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to drive project progress.
- Additional expertise in scientific disciplines or engineering analysis methods.
- Familiarity with FDA and worldwide submission processes.
- Experience researching legacy testing and design controls.
- Ability to model and detail implant and instrument designs.
