Overview
JBJ Events is seeking energetic, professional, and detail-oriented Front of House Staff to support our youth volleyball tournaments across the country. This role is a key part of the guest experience and serves as the first point of contact for athletes, families, coaches, spectators, and partners onsite.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced event environments, communicates clearly under pressure, and takes pride in delivering a welcoming, organized, and positive experience from doors open to event close. Prior experience in events, hospitality, customer service, or live sports is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Greet athletes, coaches, spectators, and guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Manage front-of-house operations including admissions, check-in, credentials, and guest flow
- Assist with ticketing support, wristband replacements (if applicable), and general entry questions
- Provide accurate event information including schedules, court locations, and venue policies
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of front-of-house areas (entry points, info desks, spectator areas)
- Support vendor, staff, and team check-ins as directed by event leadership
- Troubleshoot guest questions or concerns calmly and efficiently, escalating when necessary
- Assist with event setup and breakdown including signage, stanchions, tables, and materials
- Communicate clearly with event leads, operations staff, and venue personnel throughout the day
- Uphold JBJ Events’ standards of professionalism, safety, and guest experience
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in event staffing, hospitality, customer service, sports events, or venue operations preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a confident, guest-first mindset
- Ability to remain organized, friendly, and composed in high-traffic, high-energy environments
- Comfortable standing for long periods and moving throughout large venues
- Ability to follow timelines, instructions, and event protocols precisely
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to take initiative when needed
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, guest services, or crowd management is a plus
- Willingness to work early mornings, long days, and weekend events
