Light Duty Diesel Technician master level III

Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspension components, and HVAC systems using schematics and technical manuals.
• Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical systems in vehicles.
• Conduct fabrication tasks including welding, soldering, and assembly of custom parts or modifications to meet operational needs.
• Capable of removing cabs, replacing engines, transmissions and on occasion rebuilding engines and differentials as needed.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including brake repairs, fluid changes, all suspension work including replacement of ball joints, wheel bearings, axle shafts, steering components, HVAC servicing, and powertrain diagnostics to ensure optimal performance.
• Computer skills such as typing stories, building quotes and uploading pictures.
• Support customer service efforts by providing expert advice on vehicle repairs and maintenance schedules while ensuring safety standards are upheld.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technician or heavy-duty mechanic with a focus on diesel engines; certification as a Master Diesel Pickup Mechanic preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and component assembly.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics for electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, diagnostic scanners, and service equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely in various work environments.
• Computer skills such as writing detailed story of work performed on each job, including uploading pictures to platform, create quotes with parts needs and amount of labor to repair job.
