What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at JBC TECHNOLOGIES INC?
Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, refining, and aligning new processes to fit JBC’s manufacturing capabilities. The Manufacturing Engineer is also responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes are production ready.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become a process matter expert on die cutting, slitting, and laminating technology
- Analyze problems to see how mechanical might help solve the problem. Design and build new capabilities to streamline operations, such as automation
- Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) to design new capabilities. Analyze the design and test out prototypes. Need to be capable of adjusting designs to fit the needs of the customer while maintaining productivity and cost requirements of JBC.
- Own the manufacturing process until product is running at or above anticipated rates and release to production
- Document changes to processes through process revision
- Ensure on time completion of all assigned projects
- Responsible for developing and providing training for all operators, leads, and supervisors on production processes.
- Work with scheduling to provide alternative processing options to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure on time delivery to customers.
- Recommend new equipment and machinery, so that JBC stays ahead of the market in die cutting technology.
- Responsible for all VAVE and Cost out projects in designated manufacturing area.
- Promote continuous improvement through the adherence to the 8 continuous improvement principles
- Submit CPARS to Quality as they arise to uphold our commitment to continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clean and safe plant.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years working in a Manufacturing Environment preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Microsoft Office Experience required. Detail oriented and good communications skills required.

Physical Duties:
- Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Protective equipment not required but available for nuisance dust
- Safety toe shoes are required on the production floor.
Work Schedule:
- Normal Schedule – 8 am to 5 pm; Monday thru Friday; May vary with business needs.
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a plant/production environment
- Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.
- Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
