The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of administrative and analytical support to the Support Group Commander.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel. Projects and studies typically require knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the organization. Knowledge is used to plan, schedule, and conduct projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time--in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify changes and trends.
2. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, considerations, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.
3. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
4. Skill in coordinating administrative services for a large organization.
5. Knowledge of military organizations and protocol.
6. Knowledge of budget, resources, and financial management processes and procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Responsibilities:
- Manages the Wing Commander's Action Line program. Implements policies and provides advice and direction to the wing and associated units in administering the program. Receives and reviews questions, complaints, and comments (averaging 20-30 per month) from a variety of sources on a wide range of issues.
- Serves as principal Resource Advisor to the Support Group Commander. Manages the formulation, presentation, execution, and review of budget and financial programs. Conducts studies of financial and resource management programs affecting the Support Group and its subordinate offices.
- Conducts analyses and reviews of Support Group mission performance. Provides written and oral guidance to the Support Group staff and subordinate offices in the formulation and preparation of the Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs).
- Serves as the Support Group Projects Manager. Prepares and coordinates itineraries for visiting dignitaries. Arranges special functions, change of command ceremonies, and other special events tasked by the Commander.
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous administrative duties. Provides administrative support andoversight of administrative functions within subordinate offices.
