Job Overview
We are seeking a mechanically-minded and detail-oriented Service Technician specializing in truck equipment and hydraulic systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized truck bodies and mounted equipment, including cranes, liftgates, dump bodies, and maintenece on machinery.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of fluid power systems and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues to keep our clients' fleets on the road and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and motors.
- Equipment Installation: Mount and install new truck equipment such as service bodies, cranes, and hydraulic PTO (Power Take-Off) systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and servicing on specialized machinery to prevent downtime and ensure safety compliance.
- Fabrication & Welding: Perform basic welding and metal fabrication as needed for equipment mounting or structural repairs.
- Electrical Integration: Install and repair 12V/24V electrical systems, including lighting, controllers, and wiring harnesses for truck-mounted machinery.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, parts orders, and technical reports using our internal management system.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in hydraulic system repair and heavy truck equipment maintenance.
- Mechanical Skills: Proficiency with diagnostic software, hand tools, and shop equipment (e.g., presses, torches, welders).
- Certifications: Fluid Power certification or ASE certifications in Medium/Heavy Truck systems are highly preferred.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (climbing, kneeling, or lying under vehicles).
- Clean Record: A valid driver’s license is required
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
