No CDL? We Can Help!

While this position is primarily focused on dispatch operations, JAX would like our dispatchers to obtain a CDL and become qualified to operate transit vehicles when needed.

A CDL is preferred, but it is not required to apply. Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to receive training and support to obtain the licensing and qualifications necessary to operate JAX transit vehicles.

This added training gives you valuable experience and provides greater flexibility and advancement opportunities within JAX.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate daily driver assignments and transit operations
• Communicate route changes, delays, and service information to drivers
• Monitor daily schedules and help keep service running efficiently
• Respond to driver questions, operational issues, and unexpected changes
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation
• Communicate professionally with drivers, passengers, and staff
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of transportation services
• Support safe and efficient transit operations
• Operate a JAX transit vehicle when qualified and operationally necessary
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• CDL preferred, but not required to apply
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Comfortable using computers, phones, and dispatching systems
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional when handling unexpected situations
• Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screening
• Willingness to obtain a CDL with JAX support
