NOTES:
- Involves overnight work not often but sometimes, potentially will be called.
- Supporting data platforms, data bricks, injections tools into data bricks.
- Help with deployments, existing support team will be there.
- Know how to know troubleshooting and data platforms.
- No so much overnight stuff.
- Tier 1 support required when needed.
- This person will help in knowledge transfer to tier 1.
- Knowledge on other injections tools other than databricks would be plus.
- Databricks or Fivetran, Altrex or Tableau, switching to Databricks, preference will be given to Databricks.
- They have lot of pipeline related issues, S3 troubleshooting issues, this is production related.
- ServiceNow is main incident platform.
- Not much stakeholder s management, not interacting much, this will be more internally with Data engineers etc.
- AzureDevops for documentation.
- This is more on troubleshooting, not creating pipelines.
- Person must come to office couple of days, not looking for fully remote.
- Fully remote is also fine but lean more on candidates or preference will be given to locals or who can come onsite.
- Strong preference will be given to Databricks
- Initial screening with Colton and 2nd round with another team member.
- Top skills: Technical troubleshooting (Top priority), Ability to think bigger picture for longer solutions, Communication collaboration.
- 40 hours per week, this was initially FTE role, this is a long-term need with high likelihood of getting converted to FTE.
- Final round would be in-person interview.
- Some weekend support for deployments will be required, not often.
- 2 profiles per vendor.
- Looking to start ASAP.
Summary: To provide for the deployment, maintenance, and support of bank data platforms and supporting applications. Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of applications per user specifications. Interface with non-technical personnel in order to gather user requirements from business units. Responsible for collaborating with different areas of IT and handling escalated application support issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier II and Tier III production support for enterprise data platforms, including SQL Server based EDW, Databricks, Fivetran, Tableau, and Alteryx.
- Monitor data production environments and triage, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents to meet SLAs and minimize business impact.
- Execute and coordinate production deployments for Data and AI Engineering, including code and configuration promotions, following established change management and CAB processes.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and partner with data engineers to drive permanent remediation.
- Support and repair data ingestion and processing pipelines, including job restarts, reruns, and connector remediation.
- Troubleshoot data availability, data quality, and performance issues impacting reporting and analytics.
- Own incident communications, including stakeholder updates, outage notifications, and postincident summaries.
- Maintain and improve runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation for common production scenarios.
- Identify incident trends and recommend monitoring, alerting, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with data engineers, BI teams, DBAs, and business partners to ensure platform stability and reliability.
