As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Junior Paralegal & Calendar Clerk to support our Elder Abuse Litigation Team.

About the Role
The Elder Abuse Paralegal & Calendar Clerk will play a vital role in supporting our attorneys with litigation tasks, calendaring deadlines, preparing case materials, and assisting in the day-to-day management of elder abuse and neglect cases. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in elder abuse litigation and grow within a structured, high-performing legal team.
Key Responsibilities
Paralegal Support
Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents including pleadings, discovery, notices, and correspondence
Prepare shell discovery responses and organize evidence, medical records, and facility documents
Build and maintain case files ensuring accuracy, organization, and confidentiality
Communicate professionally with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court staff
Support attorneys in trial preparation, hearing coordination, and deposition prep
Summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and key case documents
Calendar Clerk Duties
Maintain and manage all litigation deadlines for elder abuse cases
Calendar hearings, filings, depositions, mediations, IMEs, and statutory deadlines
Ensure accurate reminder notifications to attorneys and litigation staff
File documents with courts (physical and e-filing) and track confirmations
Assist with compliance tracking and internal workflow timelines
Qualifications
2–3 years of litigation experience preferred (elder abuse, medical malpractice, or personal injury highly desirable)
Strong working knowledge of California civil procedure and litigation timelines
Prior experience with calendaring systems is a plus (e.g., Litify, Outlook, LawToolBox)
Excellent writing, organization, and follow-through skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
Compassionate communication style and ability to work with sensitive subject matter
Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required
