Job Title: Customer and Administrative Support Representative
Java’s Compost is seeking a Customer and Administrative Support Representative to support our growing residential and commercial composting services in Northern New Jersey.
The Role:
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and enjoys balancing customer interaction with administrative responsibilities. You’ll work closely with the company owners and collaborate with our drivers, warehouse manager, and operations assistant to help keep daily operations running smoothly.
You will serve as a primary point of contact for our customers, handling communications with professionalism, patience, and care. The role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-driven, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong communication, reliability, honesty, and follow-through are essential and reflect the core values of Java’s Compost.
From customer support to assisting with internal processes and onboarding new commercial accounts, no two days will be exactly the same.

What You’ll Do:
- Plan ahead, anticipate needs, and offer solutions before problems grow- we love a problem-solver
- Answer customer emails, texts, and phone calls with clarity and kindness
- Troubleshoot time sensitive emails each evening
- Handle commercial account onboarding from start to finish including creating customized quotes, composing service agreements, scheduling and performing trainings
- Review all residential and commercial routes daily and communicate issues to the appropriate staff
- Assist with administrative work and keep our systems tidy and running smoothly
- Identify and develop Standard Operating Procedures for existing and new opportunities
- Help support sales staff with administrative tasks when needed
- Keep communication, documentation, and workflows clean and organized
- Create invoices and work closely with bookkeeper to invoice commercial clients on a monthly basis
- Curate content for customer newsletter and distribute
- Data tracking and entry
- Additional duties as they arise

Details:
- Approximately 15-20 hours per week- opportunity for more hours and responsibilities as we grow
- Weekday eastern time zone availability between 9am - 1pm required
- Daily evening email scan in order to handle time sensitive customer requests
- Occasional weekend and evening hours around annual company events may be requested with advance notice
Location: Remote with the ability to travel to the warehouse in Orange, NJ for bi-weekly team meetings and when other needs arise. Ability to be in person on-site at special event locations when needed.
Compensation:
- $20-$25 per hour
- Salary increase based on tenure and experience
