Job Title: Paraprofessional – Dual Credit & Credit Recovery Proctor
Reports To: Campus Principal /DETCCA Director
Primary Purpose:
Support student success by facilitating dual credit coursework and credit recovery programs. The paraprofessional will supervise and assist students earning college credit and students identified as at-risk of not graduating on time. This position plays a key role in ensuring students remain on track for graduation, complete required coursework, and achieve College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with high school students, especially at-risk populations, preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to monitor and support student progress using digital platforms
- Proficient in basic technology applications (Google Workspace, LMS platforms, student information systems)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Dual Credit Support
- Proctor dual credit courses in accordance with college partner and campus guidelines
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and academic progress
- Provide basic academic support and direct students to appropriate resources (tutoring, instructor communication)
- Ensure compliance with college policies, testing procedures, and deadlines
- Serve as a liaison between students and dual credit instructors when needed
Credit Recovery Facilitation
- Supervise students enrolled in credit recovery programs
- Monitor student pacing and completion of coursework
- Provide encouragement, structure, and accountability for at-risk students
- Assist students in navigating online credit recovery platforms
- Communicate concerns regarding student progress to counselors and administrators
Student Support & Graduation Readiness
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage persistence and engagement
- Assist in tracking student progress toward graduation requirements
- Support counselors and administrators in identifying students needing intervention
- Help maintain accurate records of student completion and performance data
- Reinforce expectations for academic integrity and responsible learning behaviors
Program Management
- Maintain an organized and structured learning environment
- Ensure all testing and instructional materials are secure and properly managed
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of student sessions
- Support campus CCMR goals and initiatives
Working Conditions:
- Primarily classroom or lab setting
- May require extended periods of sitting or standing
- Regular interaction with students, faculty, and staff
Performance Indicators:
- Student completion rates in dual credit and credit recovery courses
- Accuracy and timeliness of student progress monitoring
- Positive student engagement and improved graduation outcomes
- Compliance with program and testing protocols
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by campus or district administration.
