Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively participate in hands-on training across all core facility departments including Nursing, Social Services, Admissions/Marketing, Finance/Billing, Human Resources, Dietary/Dining Services, Environmental Services and Maintenance.
- Shadow leadership and progressively assume management responsibilities under the Preceptor's guidance
- Learn standard operating procedures for resident rights, care planning, family communication, and maintaining quality of life for residents
- Study local, state and federal (CMS) regulations governing nursing facilities; participate in mock surveys and real state survey inspections
- Attend and contribute to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings, safety committees, and risk management
- Learn standard protocols for investigating , documenting, and reporting incidents and grievances
- Actively participate in reviewing and revising policies and procedures
- Assts the CEO with projects as assigned
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Maintain accurate, signed AIT progress reports and logs for submission to MSBNHA
- Complete all required 1,040 training hours within the 9 to 12 month program framework
- Take and pass the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards Examination
- Take and pass the Mississippi State Board of Nursing Home Administrators examination
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or any other field of study from an accredited institution
- Associate's Degree or at least 64 semester hours of college credit hours and has worked in a full time supervisory capacity in a MS-licensed Nursing Home for a minimum of two consecutive years immediately prior to application
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- To qualify for the AIT position in MS, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria established by the MS State Board of Nursing Home Administrators
