Systemwide Athletic Director

Basic Function and Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the Athletic Director is administration and supervision of the school
district's athletic programs, which will include all high school and middle school sports within the jasper
County Charter System. The Athletic Director serves as the liaison for athletics and shall participate fully
in the employment process of coaches at both the middle school and high school level.
Reports to: Superintendent/Designee
Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows the guidelines established by the Jasper County Board of Education Athletic Code of Conduct for
student athletics.
Follows the guidelines established by the Jasper County Board of Education Coaches Manual
Secures and monitors an organizational system for participation.
Coordinates all personnel including but not limited to gatekeepers, custodians, security, monitors,
emergency personnel and timekeepers/scorers for all home events.
Develops a schedule for game administration to be available at all times during all athletic events.
Develop and maintains an inventory of all athletic equipment.
Works collaboratively with Principal and Coaches to develop an annual budget.
Approves all athletic purchases, in conjunction with the Principal, that utilizes Jasper County Charter
System funds.
Establishes a strong line of communication with student athletes, parents, and community members.
Establishes a strong line of communication with faculty, staff and administration of athletic schedules.
Coordinates with maintenance and transportation athletic schedules. This includes games, practices,
and changes due to inclimate weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Ensures facilities are ready for play at all home events (games and practices).
Develops and monitors a protocol of securing facilities at all home events (games and practices).
Attends all district level administrative and Jasper County School Board meetings as required by the
Superintendent.
Attends all Georgia High School Athletic Meetings (Regional and State) and Piedmont Athletic
Association (Regional and State) as required
Monitors and communicates all local, state and national federation policy changes to appropriate
personnel.

Performs other duties as needed by Principal and Superintendent.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:
Valid Georgia certification authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of ten (5) years of successful teaching and coaching experience.
