Controller / CFO

We are seeking a CFO/Controller for a small company in Binghamton, NY.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, plan, and report on all of the financial activities of the organization.
• Oversee and manage the month end closing process in a timely manner.
• Analyze actual to budget variances and provide concise written explanations as to the rationale/reasoning for any significant discrepancies on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Work with all Department Managers in implementing on-going cost saving initiatives.
• Prepare Annual Budgets and Quarterly Reforecasts based on current YTD actual operating performance, in addition to 5 Year Projections when required
• Take on special projects as directed by the President & CEO, such as special reporting & analysis/KPIs.
• Review and analyze all continuous improvement efforts from an operational and cost perspective.
• Ensure proper inventory cutoffs and inventory valuation methodogies are complaint to GAAP on a consistent basis.
• Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts and maintain adequate internal controls on the Company’s cashflow to meet overall objectives.
• Ensure timely distribution of all month end reports to Department Managers and the Executive Management Team.
• Implement value-add modules in the Company’s existing ERP system to stream line efficiencies and the accuracy of the financial reporting process.
• Demonstrate analytical, organizational and problem solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation (versus simply reporting historical results) is a critical skill set for a qualified candidate.
• Provide leadership to strengthen internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization to create and promote a positive work environment is essential.

Education/Qualifications:

• Minimum education is a 4 year Accounting/Finance degree
• Ten (10) plus years of Accounting/Finance Experience with at least 2 years as a Controller or CFO
