Location: Lombard, IL (Chicago Metro)
Travel: ~1 week per month

We are expanding both geographically and into new vertical markets.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to lead and elevate our commercial sales organization while driving expansion into new markets.
This role is a blend of:
- Sales leadership (managing and developing an existing team of account managers)
- Business development (opening new territories, channels, and customer segments)
Our current team is primarily composed of strong relationship-focused (“farmer”) account managers. This role will complement that strength with a more proactive, strategic, and growth-oriented approach.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Leadership
- Manage and coach a team of commercial account managers
- Drive accountability around pipeline, activity, and results
- Implement consistent sales processes and reporting cadence
- Support team in key opportunities and strategic accounts
- Improve overall sales effectiveness, consistency, and professionalism
Business Development
- Identify and penetrate new geographic markets across the U.S.
- Develop new customer relationships with contractors, ESCOs, and end users
- Build go-to-market strategies for new regions and verticals
- Establish partnerships and channel relationships where appropriate
- Personally lead high-impact new business opportunities
Strategy & Execution
- Collaborate with leadership on sales strategy and market prioritization
- Provide feedback on product positioning, pricing, and competitive landscape
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and operations teams
- Help refine Jarvis Lighting’s value proposition in target markets
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in commercial lighting, electrical, or related B2B industry
- Proven track record in both:
- Sales leadership
- New business development / market expansion
- Experience working with contractors, ESCOs, or distributors preferred
- Strong ability to balance strategy and hands-on execution
- Comfortable managing “farmer” sales teams while introducing a more proactive sales culture
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
