Production Laborer

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists in the production of precast panel products and forms by performing a variety of duties. Candidates will perform an array of tasks such as housekeeping, building molds, setting up cages, concrete labor, and moving material throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain good housekeeping and always follow JCP safety policies and procedures
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to function well in a high-paced environment

· Reports findings of damaged or defective product.

· Operate a variety of equipment

· Perform construction and maintenance related work

· Operation of light, medium and heavy equipment like forklift, loader, etc

· Operation of various hand and power tools

· Stripping and cleaning concrete forms, shovels, and equipment

· Form set up, pouring concrete, finishing

· Cut, bend, place, and tie steel re-bar

· Prepare steel molds for filling with concrete

· Maintain good housekeeping and safety regulations

· Ensures all workstations are cleaned and ready for the next day prior to leaving.

· Perform additional duties as requested

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Knowledge of basic tools and their uses

· Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)

· Good attendance and positive attitude a must

· Ability and willingness to learn and be trained

· Able to speak and comprehend basic English

· Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure

· Ability to Problem Solve

Education/ Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. On-the-job training offered. Precast/construction experience preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
