Loader Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

Loader Operator to ensure proper supply of materials to the batch plant, trucks, and other assigned areas.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Assemble rigging to lift and move equipment or material.
• Safely signal crane operators engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
• Inspect rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
• Safely use tools such as slings, straps, shackles, and hoists to move equipment.
• Secure equipment safely
• Rig equipment, operate forklifts & manlifts.
• Manual labor as needed.
• Perform Take 5’s for task planning etc.
• Assist in creating lift plans with team.
• Align, level, and anchor machinery.
• Control movement of equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls and other rigging related equipment
• Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
• Select rigging such as cables, straps, shackles, and winches according to load weights and sizes by crane / lift policies, or industry standards.
• Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “Incident and Injury Free” work environment.
• Education/ Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. On-the-job training offered. Precast/construction experience preferred, but not required. Heavy Equipment experience is required; minimum of 1-year required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
