Preschool Director – Japanese Immersion (Title 22 Required)
Company Description The Japanese Institute of Sawtelle is a nonprofit community pillar in West Los Angeles dedicated to preserving Japanese cultural heritage through education. We are currently launching the Terasaki Japanese Immersion Preschool, a two-classroom program serving 44 students.
Role Description The Preschool Director will lead the daily operations of our immersion program. You will be responsible for ensuring a nurturing, play-based environment that blends Japanese language and culture with high-quality early childhood education. This is a full-time, on-site role in West Los Angeles, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations: Oversee daily school functions, enrollment, and Title 22 compliance.
- Curriculum: Implement a bilingual Japanese-English curriculum incorporating Montessori methods.
- Leadership: Manage staff, maintain student-teacher ratios, and foster a strong community connection.
- Finance: Manage the preschool budget and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Licensing: Must possess a valid California Title 22 Preschool Director License.
- Language & Culture: Fluency in Japanese and English with a deep understanding of Japanese customs.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience: Prior leadership or administrative experience in an ECE setting.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills and a commitment to community-focused education.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
