What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server, Hostess, Busser, and Food Runner position at Jane Bistro and Bar?
Hosts:
Seeking a warm and friendly people person to serve as the first point of contact, welcoming our guests into the restaurant.
Responsibilities to include:
- Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
- Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table (OpenTable experience a plus)
- Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
- Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
- Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff
- Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties
- Managing to go orders
Bussers:
- Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables after diners are done eating
- Wiping up water spills, food stains from tables
- Replacing cutlery and glassware in anticipation of new diners
Food Runners
- Deliver food orders to customers quickly and accurately
- Uphold sanitation and food safety principles
- Refilling of dressings/sauces when necessary
- Maintaining a clean/uncluttered workspace
Servers
- Providing excellent customer service throughout dining experience
- Providing suggestions for food or drink choices to diners
- Taking feedback from diners
- Pre-bussing tables
- Carrying drinks and food from the kitchen or bar area to the tables
- Memorizing the food menu and wine list as well as any nightly specials
- Checking in with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their meals
- Checking out guests in a timely manner
- Ensuring your section is cleaned and ready for the next shift
