Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations in a busy dental office, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring smooth administrative processes. This role requires proficiency in various medical and dental software systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in/check-out process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar.
- Verify patient insurance information and handle insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct medical billing and coding using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and other relevant coding systems.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with patient inquiries and provide information about services offered.
- Handle phone calls using multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure optimal patient care and service delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical or dental office is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, health information management, and insurance verification processes.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing skills (10-key typing is a plus).
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as it enhances patient communication.
- Experience with medical administrative support tasks including filing, documentation review, intake processes, and care plans is advantageous.
