Position Title: CDL Driver (Local)
Jamestown Container, One of the largest independent manufacturers of corrugated products in the northeastern United States, is looking to add a CDL Driver to its team. This position will work out of our Franklinville, NY location.
Position Responsibilities:
· Load/unload or assist in loading/unloading finished product in or from trailer.
· Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leaving.
· Verify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers.
· Transport load by required route to proper destination while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
· Obtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork to shipping office.
· Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
· Perform daily services such as checking the oil level, water level, fuel, air in tires, and clean vehicle as needed.
· Report any maintenance items immediately.
o Be proactive in the maintenance of the truck and trailers.
· Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Clean driving record and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Basic math and handheld computer skills CDL License
Physical Demands:
· Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to safely enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times throughout the workday.
· Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as required to complete deliveries and inspections. Secure loads and handle delivery equipment safely.
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
· Exposed to hot/ cold environment depending on the season and time of the month.
· Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels on a daily basis.
· Constantly exposed to corrugated dust.
· Regularly wear safety attire or protective gear (Safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, gloves).
· Able to work in a fast pace environment.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
