Senior Statutory Accountant (Manager-Level Candidates Considered)
Locations: Parsippany, NJ | Wilkes-Barre, PA | Conshohocken, PA | Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $100,000 – $160,000 base bonus 401(k) match comprehensive benefits
James Search Group is partnering with a leading global Property & Casualty insurance carrier to hire a Senior Statutory Accountant, with flexibility to consider strong candidates at the Manager level.
This is a high-impact role within a collaborative finance team, focused on statutory reporting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement. You’ll work closely with actuarial and cross-functional partners while helping modernise and streamline statutory accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review statutory financial reporting in line with NAIC and state regulations
- Support quarterly and annual filings, including Schedule P and related disclosures
- Partner with Actuarial on loss development analysis
- Perform reconciliations and investigate financial fluctuations
- Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements
- Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency
- Support premium tax filings, assessments, and regulatory submissions
- Assist with audits, management reporting, and ad hoc projects
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of accounting experience within the P&C insurance industry
- Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and regulatory frameworks
- Experience with financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
- Advanced Excel skills; ability to work with large datasets
- Process improvement mindset with experience streamlining workflows
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- SQL, VBA, or Oracle Fusion experience is a plus
