We are a dynamic, small accounting firm seeking a per diem accountant to join our team and assist with non profit audits and tax preparation. - Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation
- Perform journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting to ensure accurate financial records
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow analysis, and forecasting to support client financial management
- Reconcile accounts, interpret financial reports, and prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to audit preparations and support internal or external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights
- Mentor junior staff or interns by sharing best practices in technical accounting and financial concepts
Experience
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Hands-on experience with various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks.
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management accurately
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, accruals, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ability to interpret complex financial reports and communicate findings clearly to clients or team members
- Experience mentoring or training colleagues in technical accounting practices is desirable
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects independently
