These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders. Position Summary: The Lawrence Early Childhood Center is seeking to hire an Assistant Principal. The successful candidate will help promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by cultivating a shared vision that makes powerful teaching and learning the central focus of schooling. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Supervises and directs personnel assigned to building as delegated by the Principal. • Assists in the supervision, evaluation and improvement of the instructional program and process. • Assists in the preparation of student schedules. • Assists staff in compiling the annual budget requests. • Requisitions supplies and equipment, and maintains inventories and records. • Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance. • Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary. • Assists with parent, faculty, and student groups in advancing educational and related activities and objectives. • Assists with parent, faculty, and student groups in the continuous improvement of curriculum. • Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may from time to time assign. • Supervises, directs and evaluates all personnel assigned to school as delegated by the Principal. Qualifications & Requirements: • Valid State Certification as an elementary principal • Possess a Master's Degree • At least 5 years of successful elementary or middle grade experience • Evidence of professional leadership skills • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable • Proficient in English- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Equal Opportunity Employer Lawrence Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for employees and applicants.
