Our client, DAVIS Construction, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support preconstruction and bid efforts for large, complex commercial projects across the DMV. This full‑time, HQ‑based role is ideal for a detail‑oriented construction professional with strong electrical estimating and scope development experience—particularly on MEP‑intensive commercial projects.

As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a critical role from pursuit through project handoff, ensuring accurate, competitive electrical scopes and cost estimates that set DAVIS projects up for success. You’ll collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, and design partners and contribute to continuous improvement through post‑project feedback and closeout reviews.
Location: On‑site, Rockville, MD (DAVIS Headquarters)
*Hybrid schedule available after approximately 6 months, with manager approval
What You’ll Do
- Review project plans, specifications, and RFP documents to prepare detailed electrical cost estimates
- Coordinate with project teams to establish scope, construction standards, and estimating assumptions
- Perform quantity takeoffs and conceptual estimating throughout design phases
- Distribute bid documents and solicit competitive pricing from qualified subcontractors
- Review drawings for constructability and scope gaps or overlaps
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain estimating databases, subcontractor lists, and historical cost data
- Attend design meetings, internal reviews, and bid day pricing sessions
- Support project turnover and participate in close‑out meetings to ensure lessons learned are captured
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and design teams
What You Bring
- 4–10 years of relevant construction estimating experience (commercial projects strongly preferred)
- Electrical quantity takeoff experience using On‑Screen Takeoff (or similar software)
- Strong scope writing experience, particularly Divisions 16–18
- Pricing and vendor quote review experience
- Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present estimates clearly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in commercial and/or residential construction environments preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
