Line/Prep Cook

As a line/prep cook, you will ensure all food is prepared and cooked to order and meets quality and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assemble ingredients according to recipes and specifications. This includes chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and preparing sauces and dressings.
• Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization at the assigned station.
• Utilize a variety of cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, frying, and baking, to prepare dishes efficiently.
• Manage ingredients, including proper storage and handling, to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Follow portion control guidelines.
• Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes. Address and correct any issues promptly.
• Assist with ordering and receiving supplies as needed. Report any shortages or equipment issues to the kitchen manager.
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation. Communicate effectively with the team to manage orders and address any concerns.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices and hygiene standards. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas.

• Qualifications:
• • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proficient in English or Spanish
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Certifications:
• • Texas Food Handlers Certification.
• Physical Requirements:
• • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move at a rapid pace, bend, twist, and lift products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity for use of cutting tools and kitchen utensils for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other tasks.
  • Frequent exposure to varying temperatures (cooler/freezer and kitchen area).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line/prep cook or in a similar kitchen role is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
