Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide engaging, informative assistance to enhance their shopping experience
- Educate customers on product details, including effects, strains, consumption methods, and proper dosage
- Conduct product demonstrations and tastings when appropriate, highlighting features and benefits
- Assist with merchandising efforts to ensure attractive displays and organized stock throughout the store
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments
- Stock shelves regularly, monitor inventory levels, and assist with product ordering as needed
- Uphold all safety protocols and compliance standards related to cannabis sales and store operations
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending complementary items or higher-value options
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders remotely
- Support supervising staff with training or mentoring new team members in customer service standards
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in retail environments
- Supervising experience preferred to help lead team initiatives and ensure smooth daily operations
- Ability to perform product demos confidently while adhering to legal guidelines
- Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Excellent communication skills to clearly convey product information and build rapport with customers
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash handling, sales tracking, and inventory management
- Familiarity with grocery store retail practices is beneficial for understanding fast-paced environments
- Skilled in merchandising, stocking, and maintaining an organized sales floor
- Basic math skills for transaction accuracy and inventory calculations
- Experience in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
