Landman
jade owls is a fast-growing oil & gas operator built on integrity, grit, and cash flow. Since 2022, we’ve grown more than 65x and currently operate 14,000 BOEPD across Northeast Wyoming and Oklahoma.
This role manages land activities supporting Oklahoma and Wyoming oil and gas assets, including lease negotiations, title research, curative work, regulatory filings, and acquisition support. The ideal candidate is a driven, detail-oriented self-starter aligned with jade owls’ growth vision and capable of operating independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, and manage oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, rights-of-way, joint operating agreements, unit agreements, and related contracts
- Conduct title research and verify mineral and leasehold ownership
- Identify and resolve title defects, including preparation of curative instruments such as affidavits of heirship and stipulations
- Prepare, review, and file regulatory forms with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Bureau of Land Management, Wyoming Oil and Gas Corporation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and other applicable agencies
- Maintain accurate land, lease, and ownership records
- Track lease obligations, expirations, rentals, and other critical deadlines
- Support land and title due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
- Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and operations teams to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
- Ensure ongoing compliance with existing land agreements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of direct oil and gas land experience in Oklahoma
- AAPL certification (RPL or CPL)
- Experience working with both large independent operators and smaller companies, demonstrating adaptability and efficiency across operating environments
Work Environment
- Remote work-from-home position - Located in Oklahoma Preferred
- Frequent field presence required in Oklahoma, with occasional travel to Wyoming
- Approximately 1-2 weeks of field travel per quarter
- Working in ambient temperatures of -40°F to 100°F
- Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, etc. – work is performed in hazardous driving and working conditions all season of the year.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Exposure to hazardous facilities including moving equipment and H2S environments.
