Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage and provide guidance to Security and Surveillance Managers, Shift Managers, and front-line staff
• Provide support and necessary information to Colorado Risk and Safety Manager
• Manage investigations, ensuring proper report writing and timeliness of data collection
• Coordinate and supervise the activities of the Security and Surveillance departments ensuring cross-property staffing and consistency of performance standards
• Ensure the security and safety requirements of all JEI-owned Black Hawk, CO properties are met
• Communicate appropriately with all levels within the company
• Train team members with an emphasis on accountability, leadership, and guest service
• Perform financial forecasting and budgeting for all departmental expenditures
• Oversee expenses to remain within budgeted guidelines
• Track capital expense needs, plan for equipment upgrades, and advise the GM on areas of opportunity
• Manage capital expense projects and vendors
• Maintain consistent communication and a working relationship with the Corporate Director of Security & Risk
• Coordinate all emergency response procedures and implement industry standards related to public safety
• Attend community security and safety meetings
• Public speaking when presenting in meetings or company events
• Participate in criminal and civil proceedings when asked
• Knowledge of General Liability claims procedures
• Hire, train, coach, develop, and counsel team members to maintain high-performance standards
• Organize and order required equipment and supplies
• Communicate effectively with outside agencies
• Responsible for all Security and Surveillance policies and procedures as they apply to the system of internal controls and the Colorado Division of Gaming
• Ensures documentation and control of all evidence in the direct control and custody of the Surveillance Department
• Ensures the preservation of evidence for presentation in appropriate courts of law
• Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of all surveillance equipment
• Manages the operation of a CCTV digital surveillance system
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all information
• Successfully defuse potentially volatile or escalated situations with guests and team members
• Develop, implement, adhere, and enforce department policies and procedures
• Adhere to all company, property, and governmental safety/ health standards
• Ensures safe work practices and compliance with OSHA standards and preventive measures
• Assigns work and schedules for the Security and Surveillance Departments
• Adjust departmental schedules to always ensure proper staffing levels based on business demands
• Determines personnel deployment and level requirements within a shift
• Maintain thorough knowledge of applicable company and departmental policies and procedures and learn and follow any future policies or procedures
• This position is not eligible for work from home status
• Other related duties including but not limited to complying with the following: Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Colorado Gaming Rules and Regulations, Colorado Internal Control Minimum Procedures, Colorado Liquor and Beer Codes, Federal requirements for Anti-Money Laundering, Company Policies, and IRS reporting

Skills, Education and Other Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or 5 years Security/Surveillance management experience
• Experience in military or law enforcement a plus
• Certification in CPR, AED and Basic First Aid a plus
• Must be able to work various, non-standardized schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Advanced technical knowledge, including items like access control, CCTV
• Intermediate user knowledge in gaming industry specific software a plus
• Education in de-escalation techniques
• Excellent guest service skills
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado Division of Gaming Key License
• Identification that establishes identity
• Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States
