Position Summary
The Department of Biology & Marine Science at Jacksonville University invites applications for adjunct biology positions to teach undergraduate courses in the following areas:
• Principles of Biology lecture and lab
• Biological Diversity lab
• Anatomy and Physiology I and II
• Microbiology for Health Professionals
Undergraduate lecture courses are typically taught in the mornings, while lab sections are generally scheduled in the afternoons.
Essential Job Duties
Adjunct faculty members must perform all duties associated with teaching courses at the post-secondary level. These duties include:
• Providing lectures
• Supervising laboratories
• Leading class discussions
• Writing and grading exams, and providing feedback on other assignments
• Providing prompt responses to student questions
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants must possess either a Ph.D. in any area of Marine Science or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours earned in Marine Science.
